Kai Fischer, born Kai Anne Inge Fischer on March 18, 1934 or 1936 in either Prague or Halle (Saale), is a renowned German actress and author.

Fischer embarked on her acting journey in the mid-1950s, despite lacking formal training. She quickly gained recognition for her compelling portrayals of seductive and morally complex characters, particularly in crime films and adaptations of Edgar Wallace's works, including the notable "Zimmer 13" in 1964. By the early 1960s, she made waves in television as the creator and star of "Die Karte mit dem Luchskopf" (1963–1965), where she became television's first female private investigator, running her own agency.

As the 1970s approached, Fischer adeptly shifted to more serious roles in both film and television, collaborating with acclaimed director Wim Wenders and featuring in popular crime dramas such as "Derrick" and "Der Kommissar."
