Tony Darrow
Tony Darrow, born Anthony Borgese on October 1, 1938, is a renowned Italian-American actor known for his compelling performances in film and television. Raised in the East New York area of Brooklyn, Darrow's upbringing provided him with a unique perspective on the colorful personalities of aspiring mobsters in his neighborhood. This environment sparked his interest in the entertainment industry, leading him to participate in and win various talent shows while juggling odd jobs in his youth.
After spending a decade performing in nightclubs, Darrow landed a role in the cult classic film *Street Trash*, portraying a mobster. This significant opportunity caught the eye of acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, who invited Darrow to audition for a part in *Goodfellas*. His successful audition resulted in his portrayal of Sonny, the owner of the Bamboo Lounge. Darrow has also showcased his talent in several Woody Allen films, including *Bullets Over Broadway*, *Mighty Aphrodite*, *Deconstructing Harry*, *Small Time Crooks*, and *Sweet and Lowdown*.
In 1999, Darrow gained further recognition for his role in *Analyze This*, alongside Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal. The following year, he starred in *Mickey Blue Eyes* with Hugh Grant and became well-known for his role as mobster Larry Barese in the iconic HBO series *The Sopranos* (1999–2007). More recently, he appeared in the independent film *Lynch Mob*.
