Lynn Hamilton

Lynn Hamilton embarked on her artistic journey in the vibrant community theater of Chicago before making a significant leap to Broadway at the age of 29. In 1959, she captivated audiences with her performance in the production of Only in America, marking the beginning of a prolific stage career that included a variety of both Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.

Hamilton's talents extended beyond the stage, as she became a familiar face on television. One of her standout roles was that of Donna Harris on the beloved NBC sitcom Sanford and Son, which showcased her exceptional comedic timing and charisma. She further endeared herself to audiences with her portrayal of Miss Verdie on The Waltons and as Vivian Potter in the daytime drama Generations. In the 1991 series Dangerous Women, she took on the challenging role of Cissie Johnson, an ex-convict navigating life after imprisonment, and she also appeared as Georgia Anderson in the miniseries Roots: The Next Generation.

Her impressive television resume includes guest appearances on popular shows such as 227, The Golden Girls, NYPD Blue, Cold Case, and Judging Amy, reflecting her versatility as an actress.
