Crystle Lightning
Crystle Lightning, an accomplished Indigenous actress from the Enoch Cree Nation, embarked on her artistic journey early in life. Relocating from Canada to Los Angeles with her family, Crystle secured her first leading role in the film "3 Ninjas" at just nine years old. She honed her craft at the prestigious Beverly Hills Playhouse, studying under renowned instructors Milton Katselas and Richard Lawson.
Her diverse body of work includes notable appearances in films and television series such as "American Pie: Band Camp," "Days of Our Lives," "Southland," and the critically acclaimed "Yellowstone," which became the most-watched show of 2018. She also starred in "Outlander," a series that won the People's Choice Award for Best TV Show in 2017.
Beyond acting, Crystle is a dynamic performer and part of the Hip Hop supergroup LightningCloud, alongside MC RedCloud. The group has earned accolades including the 2014 Indigenous Music Award for Best New Artist and the 2015 award for Best Rap Album. LightningCloud has performed with industry giants like Kendrick Lamar and Nicki Minaj. Crystle is set to release her solo album, "Hummingbird Slang," in 2020.
Moreover, she has made significant contributions to the Adult Coloring Book genre with her titles "Indigenous Legends: Extraordinary Natives," "Indigenous Legends: Extraordinary Women," and "Moosebumpz: Scary Stories from the Rez," through her publishing venture, 1491 Publishing. These works have achieved #1 Amazon New Release status.
A passionate motivational speaker, Crystle travels to inspire the youth at various educational institutions. Recently, she landed the lead role of Maggie in the CBC series "The Trickster," fulfilling a long-held dream to bring the character to life.
