Emir Skalonja

Emir Skalonja, born on August 30, 1987, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (formerly Yugoslavia), emigrated to the United States in 2002. His journey in filmmaking began early, with his debut in the 1992 short film "Psalm," where he portrayed the lead role of Slavko. This poignant narrative, inspired by a short story by Mikhail Bulgakov, explored a young boy's connection with his neighbor amid the chaos of war.

In 2012, Skalonja shifted his focus towards producing original short films, showcasing his evolving creative vision. His first major foray into feature films came in 2014 with the horror movie "Veronika," which marked a significant milestone in his career. He later expanded his horror repertoire with the short film "Man That You Fear," further establishing his presence in the genre.

Currently residing in Buffalo, New York, Skalonja shares his life with his wife, Nicole, along with their two dogs and two cats. He pursued higher education at the University at Buffalo, where he honed his skills and passion for filmmaking. Emir Skalonja continues to contribute to the cinematic landscape with his unique storytelling and dedication to the art form.
