Chloe Webb
Chloe Webb, an American actress born on June 25, 1956, has made significant contributions to both film and theater. Originally hailing from Greenwich Village, Manhattan, she made her theatrical debut in the original cast of the acclaimed musical satire Forbidden Broadway. Webb gained critical acclaim for her performance in her film debut, the 1986 cult classic Sid and Nancy, which depicted the tumultuous relationship between Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen. This role earned her the Best Actress award from the National Society of Film Critics and paved the way for a series of independent film roles, the latest being Repo Chick, directed by Alex Cox.
Her artistic journey spans over twenty years of spoken word and performance art, with notable appearances in Hal Willner’s Poe Show at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, and a collaboration with Sean Lennon, Steve Buscemi, and Richard Hell at The ISSUE Project Room. She also participated in Lou Reed's The Raven alongside Laurie Anderson and Fisher Stevens at St. Ann's Warehouse.
Webb directed the documentary Surfing Thru, which premiered at Cannes and was awarded Best Documentary Short at both The Santa Cruz Film Festival and The Other Venice Film Festival. Additionally, she gained wider recognition as a USO volunteer in the Emmy-nominated series China Beach and as Danny DeVito’s girlfriend in the 1988 film Twins. Moreover, she portrayed Mona Ramsey in the PBS adaptation of Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City.
