Harry Hadden-Paton
Harry Frederick Gerard Hadden-Paton, born on April 10, 1981, is a renowned British actor recognized for his performances as Herbert Pelham, 7th Marquess of Hexham, in the acclaimed series Downton Abbey, as well as Martin Charteris in The Crown.
He gained significant acclaim for his portrayal of Henry Higgins in the Lincoln Center Theater's revival of My Fair Lady on Broadway, an achievement that earned him a nomination for the 2018 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
Hadden-Paton was born in Westminster Hospital, London, to Nigel Hadden-Paton, a former cavalry officer and head of a notable landed gentry family in Rossway, Hertfordshire, and his wife, Sarah ('Bumble'), the daughter of Brigadier Frederick Mellor. He has three sisters named Polly, Clementine, and Alice, and he is also the godson of Sarah, Duchess of York.
In 2010, he married fellow actress Rebecca Night, whom he met while working on The Importance of Being Earnest. The couple shares two daughters, Martha and Audrey, and they co-starred in 2019's The King's Speech at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
Hadden-Paton was educated at Eton College and graduated from Durham University before training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Since graduating in 2006, he has become a prominent stage actor, receiving accolades for his roles in various productions, including Romeo and Juliet and The Importance of Being Earnest. His Broadway debut in My Fair Lady was followed by a leading role in the new musical Flying Over Sunset, which premiered on November 11, 2021, after being postponed due to the pandemic. He reprised his role of Higgins at the London Coliseum in May 2022.
