G.L. McQueary, born on July 19 in Jersey City, New Jersey, grew up attending Lincoln High School before pursuing his passion for aviation at Teterboro School of Aeronautics, where he specialized in aircraft airframe and powerplant. He furthered his education at Nathaniel Hawthorne College in Antrim, New Hampshire, majoring in Aeronautical Science.

McQueary's foray into acting began in 1990 when he auditioned for the role of Blue Haven in the stage production "Ceremonies in Dark Old Men" with the Phoenix Ensemble. His performance, which garnered a standing ovation on opening night, marked the beginning of a prolific career in theater. With the Phoenix Ensemble, he showcased his talent in numerous productions, including "A Soldier's Play," "Fences," "A Raisin in the Sun," and "Split Second."

In 1993, G.L. made his professional stage debut at the Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, New York, in the premiere of Dan Owens’ "The Gang on the Roof." Later that year, he toured the southern United States with the gospel musical "A Mother's Love." After relocating to California in 1994, he reconnected with actor John Amos and participated in various projects, including Amos's one-man show and K.C. Amos’s student film "Syphon Gun."

McQueary's Los Angeles theater work included notable performances in "The Colored Museum," "Someone Who'll Watch Over Me," and "A Raisin in the Sun," the latter earning him a Jeffery Award nomination. Transitioning to film, he starred in projects like "Unidentified," "Derek & Delila," and "RiB Shack," where he won the GAFFERS Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy.

Currently, G.L. remains active in film and theater, with his play "Momma's Porch" receiving critical acclaim and potential consideration for an off-Broadway run.
