El Hijo del Santo
Jorge Ernesto Guzmán Rodríguez, known as El Hijo del Santo ("The Son of the Saint"), is a celebrated Mexican luchador enmascarado and political activist. Born into a wrestling legacy on December 2, 1963, he is the youngest of eleven children of the legendary Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, famously known as El Santo, an icon in professional wrestling and Mexican cinema.
El Hijo del Santo made his wrestling debut in February 1982 as El Korak but soon adopted his iconic persona and silver mask in October of the same year. He has become a prominent figure in lucha libre, performing for major promotions such as Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), and Universal Wrestling Association (UWA), in addition to appearances in WWE and various Japanese wrestling promotions.
Guzmán's career highlights include forming the dynamic tag team "La Pareja Atomica" with Eddie Guerrero, drawing inspiration from their legendary fathers who teamed together in the mid-20th century. He also had a successful partnership with Negro Casas from 1998 to 2006. Over the years, he has amassed an impressive collection of championships, including the AAA World Tag Team Championship, Mexican National Middleweight Championship, and several others.
In recognition of his contributions to wrestling, he won the Leyenda de Plata tournament, the 1995 CMLL International Gran Prix, and was inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 1997. Guzmán continues to honor his family's legacy while advocating for various social causes.
