Frank Miller
Frank Miller, born on January 27, 1957, is a prominent American comic book artist, writer, and screenwriter celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to the comic book industry. He gained acclaim for his influential work on Marvel's Daredevil, where he introduced the iconic character Elektra. His notable story arcs include Daredevil: Born Again, as well as celebrated graphic novels such as The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, Sin City, and 300.
Miller is recognized for his innovative fusion of film noir and manga styles, which he describes as an effort to create a unique hybrid of storytelling. He noted his dissatisfaction with the verbosity of American comics and the simplicity of Japanese ones when working on Sin City, aiming to strike a balance between the two. Over the course of his career, he has received numerous prestigious awards within the comic book realm and was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2015.
In addition to his comic work, Miller has made significant contributions to film, scripting the science fiction sequels RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, co-directing the acclaimed adaptations Sin City and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For with Robert Rodriguez, and producing the film 300.
