Linda Haynes
Linda Haynes, a talented and vibrant blonde, was born on November 4, 1947, in Florida. She ventured into the film industry with her debut role as Dr. Anne Barton in the lighthearted Japanese sci-fi monster movie *Ido zero daisakusen* (1969). Haynes showcased her versatility as the bold prostitute Meg in Jack Hill’s beloved blaxploitation classic *Coffy* (1973) and captured audiences as Sarah, the girlfriend of small-time mobster Jason Miller, in the gritty crime drama *The Nickel Ride* (1974).
Her most compelling performance came as Linda Forchet, a tough barmaid and war hero groupie who forms a bond with traumatized Vietnam veteran William Devane in the gripping revenge thriller *Rolling Thunder* (1977). In 1979, she landed her only leading role as country singer Rachel Foster in the provocative women-in-prison film *Human Experiments*. Haynes continued to appear in notable projects like *Brubaker* (1980) and the critically acclaimed made-for-TV film *Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones* (1980). However, after these performances, she chose to step back from acting, transitioning to a career as a legal assistant in a law firm in Florida. Linda Haynes's contributions to film, particularly in the 1970s, remain memorable among cinema enthusiasts.
