Tracy Morrow, widely recognized by his stage name Ice-T, was born on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey. He relocated to Crenshaw, Los Angeles, California, during his seventh grade, where he later completed high school. Following graduation, Ice-T served four years in the United States Army.

His music career began in the 1980s, and in 1987, he was signed by Sire Records, marking his debut with the album *Rhyme Pays*. The following year, he established Rhyme Syndicate Records, named after his collective of hip hop artists, releasing a sophomore album called *Power*. Ice-T also co-founded the influential thrash metal group Body Count, which made its debut in 1992 with the self-titled album. His track "Cop Killer" from the album stirred significant controversy for its provocative themes regarding law enforcement. This led Ice-T to request his release from Warner Bros. Records, and he subsequently released *Home Invasion* through Priority Records in late 1993. He continued to release music into the late 1990s, while Body Count followed up with their next album in 1994.

Since 2000, Ice-T has expanded his repertoire by portraying NYPD Detective Odafin Tutuola on the long-running NBC series *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*, solidifying his status as a versatile figure in entertainment.
