David McCracken
David McCracken is a multifaceted filmmaker known for his work as a Director, Writer, Producer, and Actor, spanning a diverse range of projects. He holds an MFA in Film & Television Production from the prestigious USC School of Cinematic Arts, complemented by an MA in Creative Writing from Ball State University and a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Evansville.
Throughout his career, McCracken has received several accolades and funding for his artistic endeavors. Among his notable achievements are the 2011 USC James Bridges Memorial Scholarship for Directing, the 2012 Alfred P. Sloan Science Foundation Production Award, and the USC Phi Kappa Phi Student Recognition Award for his acclaimed short film "I Am Become Death."
His graduate thesis film, "OstrichLand," garnered international attention, screening at over thirty film festivals globally, including events in Vancouver, Australia, and Hong Kong. The film earned several distinctions, including the Alexis Jury Prize for Best Emerging Student Filmmaker at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Best Student Film at the Carmel International Film Festival, and recognition as a finalist for Best Editing/Best Comedy at USC’s First Film.
In addition to his filmmaking, McCracken is a co-founder of Mr. Pictures, a production company that launched with the action/thriller film "BULLITT COUNTY," set in the 1970s. His contributions to cinema reflect a commitment to storytelling and creativity.
