Tracy Lamar McGrady Jr., known affectionately as T-Mac, was born on May 24, 1979, and is celebrated as a former professional basketball player in the United States. McGrady made the leap from high school straight to the NBA, being chosen as the ninth overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 1997 NBA Draft. Initially used in limited minutes, he soon blossomed into a key player, forming a dynamic partnership with his cousin, Vince Carter.

In 2000, McGrady transitioned to the Orlando Magic, where he established himself as one of the league's elite scorers. His career took another turn in 2004 when he was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he joined forces with star center Yao Ming, driving the team to multiple playoff appearances. Unfortunately, injuries hindered his performance during his later years, leading to his retirement in 2013. McGrady's final appearances were with the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association and the San Antonio Spurs.

Over his illustrious career, McGrady garnered numerous accolades, including seven selections to the NBA All-Star Game, seven All-NBA team honors, two scoring titles, and the NBA's Most Improved Player Award in 2001. His legacy was solidified with his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017. Since hanging up his sneakers, McGrady has shared his insights as a basketball analyst for ESPN.
