Joshua Grannell

Joshua Grannell, known by the stage name Peaches Christ, was born on January 7, 1974, and is a prominent figure in the American underground drag scene as a performer, emcee, filmmaker, and actor. Residing in San Francisco, Peaches runs her own production company, Backlash Productions, and is famed for the Midnight Mass film series. Grannell honed his filmmaking skills at Penn State University, where his senior thesis, "Jizzmopper: A Love Story," which tells the tale of a janitor at an adult video store, earned the audience award at the Penn State Student Film Festival. The character of Peaches Christ was born during the creation of this project.

Peaches Christ has taken her Midnight Mass Short Film Retrospective on the road, showcasing her work in cities such as Seattle, Berkeley, New York City, Brussels, and Lausanne.

On September 7, 2007, the de Young Museum in San Francisco celebrated a decade of Peaches' artistic contributions with a retrospective titled "Cattychism." This event highlighted ten years of costume design by her long-time collaborator Tria Connell, along with ten years of graphic design by artist Chris Hatfield, showcasing the vibrant and eclectic world of Peaches Christ.
