Pierre Coffin

Pierre Coffin, born in 1967, is a renowned French animator and director known for his significant contributions to the world of animation. His journey began at Gobelins, a prestigious school in Paris, where he honed his skills. Coffin's early career took off at Amblimation, a London-based studio, where he was involved in the animated feature "We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story," produced under the guidance of Steven Spielberg.

Following this, Coffin transitioned to the French CGI studio Ex Machina, where he initially worked as a freelance animator. His talent quickly propelled him through the ranks to become an animation supervisor and eventually a director. His career further flourished when he collaborated with Passion Pictures Paris and Mac Guff, leading to his pivotal role in creating the blockbuster film "Despicable Me" in 2010 alongside co-director Chris Renaud. In addition to directing, Coffin lent his voice to several minor characters, showcasing his versatility in the industry.
