Mathieu Madénian
Mathieu Madénian, born on July 23, 1976, in Perpignan, France, is a renowned comedian, actor, and columnist of Armenian and German heritage. He spent his formative years in Saleilles, a suburb of Perpignan, where he excelled academically, achieving a scientific baccalaureate with distinction. Madénian pursued higher education in criminology and practiced law before making a pivotal decision at 25 to transition into the world of comedy.
His career took off with a role in the popular television series "Un gars, une fille," where he showcased his talent through various voiceovers alongside notable actors Jean Dujardin and Alexandra Lamy. He further honed his comedic skills by creating and staging multiple one-man shows under the direction of Kader Aoun, many of which found a home at the théâtre du Point-Virgule.
Since September 2010, Madénian has been a familiar face on the French television program "Vivement dimanche prochain," hosted by Michel Drucker, where he contributes a humorous column, alternating with other prominent comedians like Anne Roumanoff and Nicolas Canteloup. He also participated in "Le Grand Direct des Médias" with Jean-Marc Morandini on Europe 1 from 2010 to 2011. Additionally, he has been a regular columnist on Drucker’s "Faites entrer l'invité" since September 2011.
A significant moment in his life occurred on January 7, 2015, when he narrowly escaped the tragic shooting at the offices of Charlie Hebdo, highlighting the precarious nature of the times in which he works.
