Karin Rask, previously known as Karin Lätsim until 2005, was born on April 21, 1979, in Haapsalu, Lääne County, Estonia. She completed her secondary education at Haapsalu Gymnasium, graduating in 1997, before pursuing studies in radio and program direction at Tallinn Pedagogical University for a year. Rask honed her craft at the Higher Theatre School, now part of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she graduated in 2002 alongside notable peers such as Priit Võigemast and Maria Soomets.

Rask made her film debut in 2002 with a minor role in Elmo Nüganen's war drama *Nimed marmortahvlil*, which depicts the Estonian War of Independence. This was followed by her appearance in the 2007 crime drama *Võõras*. Her career continued to flourish with performances in the family adventure film *Supilinna Salaselts* (2015) and the comedy *Klassikokkutulek* (2016), directed by René Vilbre. Rask gained significant recognition for her role as Rita Metsallik in the TV3 thriller *Varjudemaa*, which aired from 2015 and explored her character's return to her hometown after a personal tragedy.

In addition to her film work, Rask has been a prominent presence on Estonian television, portraying characters such as Lucy in the series *Kodu keset linna* and Triin Mets in *Kelgukoerad*. Her versatility is further showcased through various guest appearances, including roles in *Kättemaksukontor* and *Viimane võmm*. In 2017, she starred as Eva in the mystery series *Nukumaja*, solidifying her status as a talented actress in the Estonian entertainment industry.
