Alex Désert
Alex Désert, born on July 18, 1968, is a talented Haitian-American actor and musician celebrated for his diverse contributions to television and film. He is perhaps best recognized for his memorable performances in popular series such as *The Flash*, *Becker*, and *Boy Meets World*. In addition to his acting career, Désert is a founding member of the ska band Hepcat, which has made a significant impact on the Los Angeles music scene.
Désert first gained notable attention on CBS's controversial show *TV 101*, where he starred alongside his friend Matt LeBlanc. He then portrayed the character Julio Mendez, a police lab scientist, in the superhero series *The Flash* from 1990 to 1991. His career continued to flourish with a role in the short-lived series *The Heights* in 1992, followed by his portrayal of Eli Williams in the beloved sitcom *Boy Meets World* from 1995 to 1996.
From 1998 to 2004, Désert played Jake Malinak, the blind magazine stand owner, in the acclaimed show *Becker*, opposite Ted Danson. His film credits include appearances in *PCU* and *Swingers*, where he famously delivered the line, "This place is dead anyway." He also made a cameo in *High Fidelity*.
In addition to his television and film work, Désert's voice can be heard in several video games, including *Tomb Raider: Legend*, *Saints Row: The Third*, and *Saints Row IV DLC*. His versatility as an actor extends to various web series and advertisements, including a memorable appearance in Sarah Silverman's *The Great Schlep*. Most recently, he starred as Wise in the YouTube series *The LeBrons* and co-starred in Disney’s *Let It Shine* in 2012.
