Aleksandr Baluev

Aleksandr Nikolaevich Baluev, born on December 6, 1958, in Moscow, Russian SFSR, is a distinguished Soviet and Russian actor recognized for his extensive contributions to theatre and film, with over 100 cinematic credits and numerous stage performances since the 1980s.

Baluev's artistic journey began after he graduated from Moscow School No. 637 in 1975. Following unsuccessful attempts to gain admission to the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute, he spent a year working as an assistant illuminator at Mosfilm. His persistence paid off when he enrolled in the Moscow Art Theatre School under the tutelage of Pavel Massalsky, graduating in 1980. He then joined the Soviet Army Theatre, where he marked his theatrical debut in productions such as "Clock Without Hands" and "Lady of the Camellias."

In 1986, Baluev transitioned to the Moscow Yermolova Theatre, where he took on prominent roles in productions like "The Second Year of Freedom," "Snow Near the Prison," and "Caligula." His talents in the theatrical realm garnered critical acclaim and a devoted following.

In the late 1980s, Baluev shifted his focus away from theatre, embracing opportunities in enterprise while also maintaining a collaborative relationship with the Lenkom Theatre. His career reflects a dynamic range of artistic expression across various mediums, establishing him as a prominent figure in Russian performing arts.
