Malachi Jeffers
Malachi Jeffers, born on April 29, 2004, is a prominent American professional wrestler who currently competes in WWE's NXT brand under the ring name Je'Von Evans. Prior to joining WWE, he was known as Jay Malachi and made a name for himself on the independent wrestling circuit.
Jeffers embarked on his wrestling journey in 2018, training under the guidance of independent wrestler Labron Kozone in North Carolina. He made his professional debut on January 26, 2018, and quickly gained recognition, particularly for his tenure in Deadlock Pro-Wrestling, where he became a one-time DPW Worlds Champion. As he transitioned to WWE, he vacated the championship title on November 2, 2023.
In November 2023, Jeffers officially signed with WWE and was assigned to the NXT brand. He debuted as Je'Von Evans on February 16, 2024, in an episode of NXT Level Up, facing Brooks Jensen. His first major television appearance came on April 9, 2024, when he secured a victory against SCRYPTS. Following a challenging match against then-NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov, Evans earned respect from Dragunov, marking a significant moment in his early NXT career.
Evans quickly formed an on-screen alliance with Trick Williams, who had recently claimed the NXT Championship. Together, they faced formidable opponents like Noam Dar and Oro Mensah of The Meta-Four, achieving notable victories. He also triumphed in a 25-man battle royal on June 18, earning a title shot against Williams at NXT Heatwave, although he ultimately fell short against Ethan Page later that night.
