Afeni Shakur

Afeni Shakur Davis was a prominent American political activist and a dedicated member of the Black Panther Party. Born on January 10, 1947, she gained enduring recognition as the mother of the legendary rapper Tupac Shakur, and she played a crucial role as the executor of his estate following his untimely death in 1996. Passionate about social justice and advocacy, Afeni founded the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, which focuses on supporting young artists and promoting positive social change through educational initiatives.

In addition to her activism, she was also the CEO of Amaru Entertainment, Inc., a record and film production company she established to honor her son’s legacy and promote his artistic vision.
