Andrew Russell Garfield, born on August 20, 1983, is an actor and producer with dual English and American nationality. He captured global audiences with his performances in the 2010 film Never Let Me Go, where he starred alongside Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley, and as Eduardo Saverin in The Social Network, also released in 2010. Garfield rose to significant fame for his role as Peter Parker in the superhero films The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

Of Jewish heritage on his father's side, Garfield identifies as a "Jewish artist." His journey into acting began at the age of nine in Guildford, Surrey, where he took drama classes and participated in a youth theater production of Bugsy Malone. He made his British television debut in 2005 with the Channel 4 teen drama Sugar Rush. Garfield gained further visibility in 2007 when he appeared in the third series of the BBC's Doctor Who, specifically in the episodes "Daleks in Manhattan" and "Evolution of the Daleks."

His work has earned him accolades, including Academy Award nominations for Best Actor for his roles as Desmond Doss in Hacksaw Ridge (2016) and Jonathan Larson in Tick, Tick... Boom! (2021), the latter also earning him a Golden Globe Award. Other notable films include Silence (2016), The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021), and We Live in Time (2024). Additionally, he starred as a Mormon detective in the crime drama mini-series Under the Banner of Heaven (2022), for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor.
