Foxy Brown

Inga DeCarlo Fung Marchand, widely recognized as Foxy Brown, was born on September 6, 1978, and has made a significant mark in the world of hip hop as a talented rapper. She burst onto the scene in 1996 when she signed with Def Jam and released her debut album, *Ill Na Na*, on November 19, 1996. The album achieved platinum status from the RIAA and has sold over 7 million copies globally, establishing her as a formidable presence in the industry.

Foxy Brown was also a key member of the hip hop supergroup The Firm, alongside notable artists Nas, AZ, and Cormega, who was later succeeded by Nature. In 1999, she continued her ascent with her sophomore album, *Chyna Doll*, which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, making her only the second female rapper to achieve this feat, following Lauryn Hill's success in 1998.

Her third album, *Broken Silence*, released in 2001, featured the Grammy-nominated single "Na Na Be Like," further showcasing her lyrical prowess. In recognition of her influential contributions to the genre, Spin magazine included her in their 2020 list of the 30 Best Female Rappers Ever, ranking her at number 20.
