Ross Turner
Ross Turner is a celebrated actor, recognized for his impactful portrayal of Mr. Wood, the math teacher at Liberty High, in the acclaimed Netflix series "13 Reasons Why." His performances have garnered him numerous accolades, including three Best Actor awards for his leading role in the sci-fi short "The Bumbry Encounter" and seven Best Supporting Actor awards for the supernatural western short "Ghost in the Gun." He also received a Best Acting Ensemble award for "Ghost in the Gun," which he shares with Tim Russ, known for his work on "Star Trek: Voyager."
In 2007, after dedicating two decades to theater and stand-up comedy, Ross transitioned to film when renowned director Len Dell'Amico discovered him during a comedy showcase featuring the late Robin Williams. This opportunity led to a starring role in Dell'Amico's independent film "Welcome to Dopeland" (2010). Since then, Ross has appeared in 24 feature films, showcasing his talent at prestigious festivals like SXSW, Tribeca, Sundance, Cinequest, and the San Francisco International Film Festival. Additionally, in Japan, he has guest-starred in episodes of popular series "Sekai Gyoten News" and "World Hanzai Mystery."
A native of Eureka, California, Ross comes from a rich lineage in the performing arts. His family includes his mother, Donna Cleveland, a local television personality and "Romper Room" teacher, his father, Bill Turner, a college radio host and stage actor, his sister Heidi Turner, a SAG and AEA actress, and his grandmother, Mable Turner, a film organist from the silent film era.
