Byron Bowers
Byron Bowers is a multifaceted American performer known for his work as a comedian, writer, and actor. He gained recognition through his appearances on notable shows such as The Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim, Adam DeVine's House Party on Comedy Central, and the reboot of Comic View on BET. Bowers made his late-night debut on The Pete Holmes Show, later showcasing his talents on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He also featured in MTV's Guy Code and the History Channel's comedic series, The Crossroads of History. Currently, he portrays the character Meldrick in Lena Waithe's Showtime drama series, The Chi. Additionally, he was cast as the roommate of Lucas Hedges’ character in the acclaimed film Honey Boy, which received the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019.
In 2016, he performed at the Hollywood Bowl alongside artists like Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and George Clinton during the Brainfeeder festival. His film credits include the horror project KUSO, while his television appearances extend to season 3 of The Meltdown on Comedy Central, HBO Canada's Funny as Hell in Montreal, and Flop House on Viceland. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Bowers relocated to Los Angeles in 2008 to fully pursue his passion for comedy.
