Giorgos Konstas, born in 1949 in Piraeus, was a prominent figure in the Greek theater scene, celebrated for his multifaceted talents as an actor, director, and educator. His artistic journey began at the Drama School of the Piraeus Association, complemented by studies in classical singing and flute at the Piraeus Conservatory, alongside dance training. Throughout his career, he collaborated with notable figures such as directors Alexis Minotis, Alexis Solomos, and Spyros Evangelatos at the National Theater, honing his craft over several years.

From 1983 to 1987, Konstas expanded his influence in theater as he led the theater department at the Alberus Magnus Gymnasium in Southern Germany. His commitment to the arts was further exemplified in 1991-1992 when he directed a significant program on Ancient Drama, supported by the Municipality of Corinth and the European Union. This initiative culminated in a large theater group and a memorable production of Euripides' "Bacchae" at Corinth's ancient theaters.

Konstas showcased his versatility through a variety of acclaimed performances, including directing and starring in "The Handmaids" by Jean Genet, as well as key roles in "Death and the Daughter," "Totenfloss," and "Trachiniae." His creative legacy also includes the play "The Conservator," which he wrote and directed. Giorgos Konstas passed away on January 17, leaving behind a rich tapestry of contributions to Greek theater at the age of 65.
