Hank Garrett
Hank Garrett's journey into the world of entertainment began in his childhood, where he was captivated by the sounds of the radio. He would often mimic the various voices he heard, with a particular fondness for the show “Can You Top This?” and its talented storyteller, Peter Donald. Inspired, Hank kept a notebook filled with jokes and delighted family and friends with his early comedy routines. By the age of sixteen, he was already making his mark as a comedian in resort hotels.
Garrett's breakthrough in television came when he landed the role of Patrolman Ed Nicholson on the beloved series “Car 54, Where Are You?” Alongside this, he showcased his vocal talents by providing unique voices and dialects for radio commercials. His career took another exciting turn when he auditioned for and secured the roles of Fluffy and Fast Eddie in the animated series “Here Comes Garfield.”
Hank’s most notable voice work includes portraying Dial-Tone, the G.I. Joe Communications Specialist, in the animated series “G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.” This character became a fan favorite, appearing in the “G.I. Joe: Arise, Serpentor, Arise” mini-series and over twenty-four syndicated episodes, as well as in “G.I. Joe: The Movie.” Fans attending conventions can meet Hank Garrett, the voice behind Dial-Tone, and even snag an autograph on their 2011 Convention Exclusive Dial-Tone!
