Barbara Darrow (November 18, 1931 - August 26, 2018) was a prominent American actress known for her work in film and television. Born in Hollywood, California, to George H. Wittlinger, a landscape artist in the film industry, and Alice Simpson Wittlinger, a former silent film star, she graduated from Hollywood High School, paving her way into the entertainment realm.

Darrow's modeling career opened doors to film opportunities, leading to a significant milestone on August 31, 1950, when she signed a seven-year contract with RKO Studios, approved by a judge. Throughout the 1950s, she starred in several B-movies like The Monster That Challenged The World and Queen of Outer Space. Notably, she took over Marla English's role opposite Spencer Tracy in The Mountain after English suffered an adverse reaction to a vaccination. By 1955, Darrow had established herself as one of only three actors bound to RKO.

In addition to her film work, Darrow made a mark on television, most notably as Nurse Forester in the NBC medical drama Doctors' Hospital. Her television credits also included guest appearances on popular series such as The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, Bachelor Father, The Bob Cummings Show, M Squad, and Peter Gunn, showcasing her versatility as an actress in a variety of roles.
