Denise Lee Richards, born on February 17, 1971, is an accomplished American actress, former model, and television personality. Richards hails from Downers Grove, Illinois, where she was born to Joni, who owned a coffee shop, and Irv Richards, a telephone engineer. Her family background is a rich tapestry of cultures, including German, French-Canadian, Croatian, Irish, English, Welsh, and some Dutch heritage. Tragically, her mother passed away from kidney cancer in November 2007, a loss that deeply affected Richards.
