Anneke Wills is a distinguished British actress, best recognized for her role as Polly, the vibrant companion to the first and second Doctors in the iconic series Doctor Who, where she captivated audiences from 1966 to 1967. Her career spans a variety of television roles, including Evelyn in the ITC series The Strange Report (1969-1970), along with guest appearances in popular shows like The Avengers and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). Wills also showcased her talent on the big screen, portraying Anne in Some People (1962) and Angela in The Pleasure Girls (1965).

Wills was married to actor Michael Gough from 1962 until 1979, and their union produced one child. The father of her first child was entertainer Anthony Newley, whose departure for actress Joan Collins marked a significant chapter in her life. In 1970, she chose to step back from the acting scene to dedicate herself to motherhood.

After her divorce from Gough, Wills embarked on a global journey, residing in diverse locations such as Laos, Vietnam, and India, along with a stint in the USA and Canada throughout the 1980s and 1990s. She returned to the UK in 1996, where she has become a beloved presence at Doctor Who conventions. Wills has also made occasional returns to acting in Doctor Who-related productions and has authored three memoirs: Self Portrait (2007), Naked (2009), and In Focus (2012).
