Margrete Robsahm

Margrete Robsahm, born on October 9, 1942, is a multifaceted Norwegian figure known for her contributions as a model, actress, and director. She is notably the mother of the acclaimed director Thomas Robsahm and the sister of actor Fred Robsahm. Robsahm gained international recognition through her performance in the cult classic "Castle of Blood," alongside the legendary Barbara Steele. In addition to her work in international cinema, she made her mark in Norwegian film history with her role in "Line," released in 1961. This film, adapted from Axel Jensen's novel, sparked controversy in Norway as Robsahm became the first actress to reveal her breasts on screen in a Norwegian production.

In March 2008, Robsahm found herself at the center of media attention after it was revealed that she had received NOK 2.3 million in government arts funding over a span of sixteen years, despite not having directed any films during that time. While she faced no direct criticism, this revelation prompted discussions about the effectiveness and oversight of the government funding system for the arts in Norway.
