Kandi Burruss
Kandi Lenice Burruss, born on May 17, 1976, is a multifaceted American talent widely recognized as Kandi. She has made her mark as a singer, songwriter, dancer, television personality, actress, businesswoman, and producer.
Kandi first rose to fame in 1992 as a key member of the acclaimed R&B group Xscape, which achieved multi-platinum status. As a prolific songwriter, she contributed to several major hits, including "Bills, Bills, Bills" for Destiny's Child, "There You Go" for Pink, and "Shape of You" for Ed Sheeran. Her songwriting prowess earned her a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song in 2000 for TLC's "No Scrubs." Kandi's solo career includes her debut single "Don't Think I'm Not" and featured spots on tracks like "4, 5, 6" by Solé and E-40’s "U and Dat," both of which charted in the Billboard Hot 100's top 40.
Since joining the Bravo reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta in its second season on July 30, 2009, Kandi has become the franchise's longest-serving cast member. She has appeared in various spin-offs, including The Kandi Factory and Kandi & the Gang. Kandi also showcased her talents on The Masked Singer and Celebrity Big Brother.
Her recent work in the Broadway production of The Piano Lesson earned her a Tony Award nomination in 2023 for Best Revival of a Play. Kandi is a proud mother of two children, Riley Burruss and a son and daughter with husband Todd Tucker, whom she married in 2014.
