Mohamed Majd was born in 1940 and embarked on his artistic journey in the late 1950s, making his debut on the theatrical stage. After spending a decade honing his craft in various theater productions, he transitioned to film, beginning with short films directed by Abdelmajid R'chich. His breakout role came in 1975 when he starred alongside Anthony Quinn in Moustapha Akkad's historical epic, The Message, which significantly boosted his profile as a prominent Moroccan actor.

By the age of 47, Majd had gained considerable international recognition, thanks in part to casting director Ahmed Boulane, who selected him to share the screen with John Hurt in the film Deadline, directed by Richard Stroud.
