Dong Young-bae, widely recognized by his stage name Taeyang, which translates to "Sun," is a prominent South Korean singer-songwriter born on May 18, 1988. His musical journey commenced at the tender age of 12 when he joined YG Entertainment, following an appearance in the music video "A-yo" by the hip-hop duo Jinusean.

After six years of rigorous training, Taeyang officially entered the music scene in 2006 as a member of the wildly successful boy band Big Bang.
