Sergey Shnurov
Sergey Vladimirovich Shnurov, born on April 13, 1973, is a prominent Russian musician and songwriter, renowned for his role as the lead vocalist of the ska-punk band Leningrad, which he founded in 1997. Shnurov's dynamic stage presence and distinctive musical style propelled Leningrad to fame, making them a significant force in the Russian music scene until the band's disbandment in December 2008. Following this, Shnurov established a new group called Rubl, continuing his creative journey.
Among his notable contributions to music, three of Shnurov's compositions were featured in the acclaimed soundtrack for the film Everything Is Illuminated, with the track “Дикий Мужчина” (Dikiy Muzhchina, or "Wild Man") gaining particular popularity. Beyond soundtracks, he has also composed for several influential films, including the cult classic Boomer and its sequel, further solidifying his impact on Russian cinema.
