Hailing from Genoa, Marisa was born to a Sardinian father and a Tuscan mother from Garfagnana. She made her cinematic debut in 1961, but it was her standout performance in 1962, under the direction of Mario Monicelli in the film "Renzo e Luciana," that truly catapulted her career. This film was part of the anthology "Boccaccio '70," and it marked the beginning of her illustrious journey in the entertainment industry. That same year, she appeared in Bernardo Bertolucci’s debut film, "La commare secca," and showcased her theatrical talents in "Fogli d'album" during the prestigious Festival dei Due Mondi.
