Matthew William Sorum, born on November 19, 1960, is a distinguished American drummer renowned for his dynamic contributions to the rock music scene. He gained widespread acclaim as a former member of the iconic hard rock band Guns N' Roses, participating in the recording of three influential studio albums. Sorum also played a pivotal role in the supergroup Velvet Revolver, further cementing his status in the rock genre.

Throughout his career, Sorum has collaborated with various notable bands, including The Cult and Y Kant Tori Read. He was involved in several side projects associated with Guns N' Roses, such as Slash's Snakepit and Neurotic Outsiders. In addition to his work with bands, Sorum has released two solo albums: "Hollywood Zen" in 2004 and "Stratosphere" in 2014.
