Hồng Đào
Hồng Đào is a prominent Vietnamese American actress and comedian, celebrated for her dynamic performances across both the United States and Vietnam. Born in Buôn Ma Thuột, Vietnam, she honed her craft at the University of Ho Chi Minh's Academy of Dramatic & Theatrical Arts. In the 1980s, she gained significant recognition in Vietnam, captivating audiences with her comedic talent on stage and in films.
In the mid-1990s, Hồng Đào relocated to San Jose, California, where she became a beloved figure among Vietnamese-speaking communities worldwide. She showcased her comedic prowess through various live performances and variety shows, notably with Van Son Entertainment, Thuy Nga Productions' Paris by Night, and Asia Entertainment. In 2010, she made her much-anticipated return to Vietnam's entertainment scene with the television series Gia Dinh So Do, starring alongside Don Nguyen and Nha Phuong. Her portrayal in Trịnh Đình Lê Minh's film Goodbye Mother (Thưa mẹ con đi) earned her critical acclaim and solidified her status in the industry.
Recently, Hồng Đào made her Hollywood debut in the Netflix series Beef, sharing the screen with stars Ali Wong and Steven Yeun. Currently residing in Southern California, she balances her successful career with motherhood, raising two daughters, Vicky and Sophia, whom she cherishes deeply.
