His work on the show was recognized by Variety as "the most innovative music on TV today," while NPR described it as a "sci-fi score like no other" that complements the action in a profoundly impactful way. His exceptional talent earned him a spot on Io9.com’s list of the Ten Best Science Fiction Composers of All Time, and WIRED Magazine recently named him one of five "Secret Weapons" in the television industry. In a notable recognition of his craftsmanship, he was awarded the title of “Composers’ Choice Composer of the Year – Television” by his colleagues in ASCAP.

McCreary has showcased his orchestral works across North America and Europe, participating in prestigious events such as Fimucité in Tenerife and the International Film Music Festival in Úbeda, Spain. A significant highlight of his career occurred in July 2014, when the L.A. Philharmonic, alongside the L.A. Master Chorale, performed his music at the Hollywood Bowl under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel.
