Ian Ritchie is a multifaceted English musician recognized for his contributions as a composer, record producer, arranger, and saxophonist. His notable work includes producing Roger Waters' acclaimed album, *Radio K.A.O.S.*, and collaborating with an array of artists such as Laurie Anderson on *Strange Angels*, Pete Wylie with *Sinful*, Hugh Cornwell for *Wolf*, and the Big Dish's *Swimmer*. In the 1980s, he also partnered with the innovative singer-songwriter Gary Numan.

Ritchie is perhaps best known for composing "The Globe Trekker Theme," formerly titled "The Lonely Planet Theme," which serves as the signature music for the travel series *Globe Trekker*. He is a member of the renowned Liverpool-based theatre rock ensemble Deaf School and recorded several singles during the '80s under the alias Miro Miroe. His saxophone skills have graced tracks like "See the Day" by Dee C Lee, "Club Tropicana" by Wham!, and "C'est La Vie" by Robbie Nevil, alongside his debut jazz album, *Ian Ritchie's SOHO Project*.

Between 2006 and 2008, Ritchie joined Roger Waters on the *Dark Side of the Moon Live* tour and later toured Europe in 2010 with the Australian progressive rock group Unitopia. His 2013 release, *South of Houston*, marked his return to jazz. Ritchie has been involved with various groups, including the Blue Jays, Cricklewood Cats, Tina T's Smooth Soul, and the Crown Moran Allstars, whose self-titled album he wrote and produced. In 2016, he participated in the landmark Desert Trip concerts at Coachella, and from 2017 to 2018, he toured globally with Roger Waters' *Us + Them*, performing in 157 venues worldwide.
