Christopher John Weitz, born on November 30, 1969, is an accomplished American filmmaker known for his roles as a director, screenwriter, producer, and actor. He gained significant recognition for his collaboration with his brother Paul in creating iconic comedy films such as American Pie and About a Boy, the latter of which earned them an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Beyond these notable projects, Weitz directed the cinematic adaptation of Philip Pullman's novel The Golden Compass and helmed the film version of New Moon, part of the popular Twilight series.
