Richard Pettyfer

Richard Pettyfer, born on June 2, 1960, in London, is a multifaceted talent with roots in both British and Australian heritage. His family relocated to Hertfordshire when he was four years old. The son of Rita M. Spooner and Arthur Alexander Pettyfer, he lost his father in 1988 and has one sister.

An accomplished athlete, Richard excelled in rugby, cricket, and canoeing, even representing England schools in rugby. His artistic talents emerged early; he played percussion for the National Youth Orchestra and sang in the choir at Worcester Cathedral. At 16, he pursued formal training at the Arts Educational Drama School in London, where he was recognized as the most promising student among his peers, which included notable actors like Martin Clunes and Caroline Quentin.

With over 40 years in the entertainment industry, Richard has appeared in more than 30 West End productions, including the original casts of iconic shows such as *Cats* and *Mamma Mia!*. His impressive resume also includes performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, where he received the prestigious 'Gypsy Robe' award for his extensive experience.

He has collaborated with legendary figures like Trevor Nunn and Andrew Lloyd Webber, and his television credits span numerous popular shows, including *The Two Ronnies* and *The IT Crowd*. Richard has also ventured into directing and choreography, helming productions like *Me And My Girl*.

Most recently, he fulfilled a personal ambition by working alongside his son, actor Alex Pettyfer, during a film project in Poland. Richard's artistic journey continues to inspire, showcasing his remarkable versatility across various mediums in the performing arts.
