Allene Roberts
Allene Roberts (September 1, 1928 - May 9, 2019) was a notable American actress. Hailing from Fairfield Highlands, a suburb near Birmingham, Alabama, Roberts made her mark in the film industry by appearing in twelve movies from 1947 to 1954. She also made guest appearances on popular television shows such as Four Star Playhouse, The Adventures of Superman, and Dragnet.
Her cinematic debut came with the film The Red House, featuring notable actors Rory Calhoun, Julie London, and Edward G. Robinson. This film garnered critical acclaim and was recognized as that year's 'sleeper hit.' Roberts went on to star in other significant films, including Knock on Any Door alongside John Derek and Humphrey Bogart, as well as Union Station with William Holden. Additionally, she appeared in the 1949 serial Bomba on Panther Island, produced by Monogram Pictures.
By 2009, Allene Roberts was residing in Huntsville, Alabama, as a widow of Ralph Cochran. Together, they raised four children: John, Leslie, Julie, and Laurie. Her contributions to the film and television industry remain a testament to her talent and enduring legacy.
