Gulya Korolyova, born Marionella Vladimirovna Korolyova on September 9, 1922, in Moscow, was a notable Soviet child actress whose career began in the silent film era. She gained recognition for her performances in early films, such as "Women of Ryazan" (1927) and "Partisan's Daughter" (1936). However, her path took a significant turn as World War II erupted.
Choosing to prioritize her duty to her country, Korolyova left her acting career to pursue education and subsequently enlisted in the Red Army. Serving as a medic, she displayed exceptional bravery and commitment during one of the war's most crucial battles. Tragically, she lost her life on November 23, 1942, during the ferocious Battle of Stalingrad, a pivotal moment in the conflict.
