Jay Rabinowitz is a distinguished American film and commercial editor, celebrated for his collaborations with renowned directors Jim Jarmusch and Darren Aronofsky. An ACE-certified professional, Rabinowitz has made a significant mark in the film industry with his unique editing style.

He earned his degree in Cinema Studies from New York University in 1984. During his studies, he discovered an opportunity for an internship on the set of Jarmusch's film *Down By Law* (1986), which marked the beginning of his editing career. In the following years, Rabinowitz served as assistant editor on various projects, including Jarmusch's *Mystery Train* (1989), which helped solidify his reputation in the industry.

Rabinowitz's long-standing partnership with Jarmusch began with *Night on Earth* (1991) and continued through seven films, including *Dead Man* (1995), *Year of the Horse* (1997), *Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai* (1999), *Coffee and Cigarettes* (2003), *Broken Flowers* (2005), and *The Limits of Control* (2009). His editing work on Aronofsky's *Requiem for a Dream* (2000) garnered him significant acclaim, earning him best editing honors from the Online Film Critics Society. He also received a nomination for the same award for his work on *The Fountain* (2006), further establishing him as a leading figure in cinematic editing.
