Jitka Schneiderová
Jitka Schneiderová, born on March 23, 1973, in Znojmo, is a celebrated Czech actress known for her dynamic performances on stage and screen. Although she initially graduated from a secondary pedagogical school, her passion for the arts led her to the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU), where she honed her musical and movement skills. During her academic journey, she made her mark at the Brno City Theater, engaging in original Czech musicals in both Brno and Prague.
Schneiderová's career took a significant turn when she joined the Mrštík Brothers Theater and later studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU) under the guidance of noted mentor Jan Kačer. After a series of theatre engagements in Prague, she secured a permanent position at Studio Ypsilon in 1996, which she left after seven years to pursue freelance opportunities, including a memorable performance in "King Lear" at the Prague Summer Shakespeare Festival.
Her television career includes notable roles in the sitcom "Nováci" and various fairy tales for Czech Television, such as "Crossed Swords." She gained widespread recognition for her leading role as Hanka in David Ondříček's film "The Loners" and starred in Václav Vorlíček's fairy tale "The Queen of the Lakes." Other credits include "How to Tame Crocodiles," "Airport," and "Black Ambulance."
In addition to her acting achievements, Schneiderová showcased her dancing skills in the 2015 season of "StarDance," finishing in a commendable second place. She shares a daughter, Sofia Anna, born in 2006, with her former husband, actor David Švehlík.
