Born in Waukegan, Illinois, Hill initially pursued interests in football and playing the saxophone during his high school years. However, his passion for acting led him to a summer drama program at Northwestern University, paving the way for his career in the performing arts. He later graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois, where he showcased his talent in productions like *King Lear*, *Six Degrees of Separation*, and *Ain't Misbehavin'*.
