Stephen Trask is an accomplished American musician and composer, who earned his degree from Wesleyan University. He made his mark in the New York City music scene as the music director and a member of the house band at Squeezebox, a club that hosted performances by notable artists like Debbie Harry, Lene Lovich, and Joey Ramone.

Trask is best known for creating the music and lyrics for the acclaimed stage musical *Hedwig and the Angry Inch*, which was later adapted into a film in 2001. The story follows a struggling rock artist named Hedwig, with Trask’s own band, Cheater, serving as the fictional band "The Angry Inch." His work on *Hedwig* earned him an Obie Award for the original production and a Grammy Award nomination for the film adaptation.

In 2014, *Hedwig* made its Broadway debut at the Belasco Theatre, where it won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, running until September 2015, followed by a national tour starting in October 2016.

Beyond the stage, Trask collaborated with filmmaker Paul Weitz on several projects, composing scores for films such as *In Good Company* (2004) and *American Dreamz* (2006), where he co-wrote multiple songs featured in the film. His extensive filmography includes scores for *Camp* (2003), *Dreamgirls* (2006), *The Back-up Plan* (2010), and *Little Fockers* (2010). In 2013, he contributed music to *Lovelace* and *Admission*, showcasing his versatility across various genres and mediums.
