Concordia Cornelia Johanna Selander, born Hård on June 2, 1861, in Arboga, Sweden, was a distinguished actress and theatre manager whose contributions to Swedish performing arts remain significant. Coming from a family with a musical background—her father was a maker of musical instruments—Selander's artistic journey began with her training at the Royal Swedish Ballet School from 1874 to 1880, followed by studies at the Royal Dramatic Training Academy from 1878 to 1883.

Her professional career commenced at Stora teatern in Gothenburg, where she performed from 1883 to 1885. She subsequently joined various touring theatre companies until 1888, after which she took a position at the Swedish Theatre in Stockholm for the 1888-89 season. In 1887, she wed fellow artist Hjalmar Selander and, the following year, they established the Selander Company, where she served as both an actress and co-manager.

Selander's versatility shone through as she expanded her career into film starting in 1917, marking a new chapter in her artistic expression. Throughout her life, she played a crucial role in the evolution of Swedish theatre and cinema until her passing on March 31, 1935. Her legacy continues to inspire future generations of performers.
